To make this project, you will need to buy some cotton or linen drawstring favor bags. You will be able to find these online or at your local craft store. There are lots of choices, so choose a size that will work for the candy you want to use. Next, get your iron-on ready. We used Iron-On Glitter. To stay true to the St. Patrick’s Day theme, we used a glittery green and gold color combination for our treat bags. Of course, you could use this design at any time of year as little good luck charm. Choose any color scheme and use these bags as a birthday or graduation gift! Use the SVG file below if you are using your cutting machine, or the PDF for if you are cutting by hand.
Tools
- Cricut Maker or Silhouette Cameo 4 (recommended)
- Kai 8″ Scissors (if cutting by hand)
- Iron
Materials
To make your iron-on treat bags looking even and crisp, make sure to secure the design by pressing your iron down rather than rubbing your iron against it. What size draw string bag did you use in the photos?

Hi Lia and team ….just a heads up 🙂 , it’s actually St. Paddys day if you’re shortening it to a nickname. A Patty is something totally different. I’m sure I’m not the only member from Ireland on here ….ha. Love you guys and all the makes x
Ahh thank you!!
Just finished my first one! I only had glitter foil in Gold so I grabbed the Green shiny foil I had on hand and used that instead. The two different textures look really good together. Thanks for the fun project Lia!
Oh how cute! So glad you made this your own 🙂
Soooooo cute!
Thanks Candace!
