Sometimes I can get a little overly enthusiastic about party planning. I love choosing a theme and then making as many things that can fit with that theme as possible! Sometimes it’s the smallest details that count most. But that must be the DIYer in me! We recently shared our under the sea party invitations, which are great to pair with our under the sea photo props and backdrop. If you are planning an under the sea party for your child’s birthday party, you will certainly want to have some cute party favors to complement the theme. These under the sea party favors are so easy to put together, and of course they make for a tasty chocolatey treat that kids love!
Our under the sea party favors come in octopus and jellyfish versions to match our backdrop decor. To make these party favors, you will need tissue paper, pipe cleaners, and a small plastic bag for your treats. No matter how cute the party favors are, the best part is always what’s inside. For our children’s birthday party we chose customized candies from My M&M’S, the perfect touch to our under the sea party! My M&M’S are available in 25 different colors, so we customized ours in a blue and purple color scheme to match our party decor, and then had an anchor graphic printed on the candies to fit the theme. On the other side of the candies, we printed the names of the kids. It was such a great way to personalize our under the sea party favors!
Start making your favors by separating the M&M’S into individual portions and placing them in small glassine bags. Twist the top of the bag and fold in the corners to make it as rounded as possible. Next, cover them with tissue paper to create the heads of the jellyfish and octopus. Then find some coordinating colors of baker’s twine to tie these cuties together! You can follow the full photo tutorial below for the step-by-step process of putting the under the sea party favors together. Once your party favors are ready, you can add our editable gift tags to personalize each treat bag. Download and install the free font Kitten Swash Monoline to edit the names on each tag. Print the tags onto white card stock and then punch a hole at the top of each tag to attach them to your party favors.
If you want to customize some M&M’S for party favors at your celebration, head to their site to get started. My M&M’S is even offering a 25% off discount, through 9/1/2016 to our readers!
