Video Tutorial: Crepe Paper Larkspur

On A Lark
With such a large collection of crepe paper flowers on our site, it feels rare to present one we've never designed before. However, these Crepe Paper Larkspur are too lovely to forego, so we're excited to introduce them. If you love the challenge of our more advanced crepe paper projects, then you'll enjoy crafting these sweet purple buds. And to sweeten the deal, we're offering a video tutorial to give you a hand — available on March 28th.

Though these Crepe Paper Larkspur are an advanced-level project, we encourage you to give them a try. After all, our video tutorial will provide all the guidance, tips, and confidence you need to take your skills to the next level. So, what are you waiting for? We hope you'll tune in — you may surprise yourself.
The dainty purple petals of the larkspur always bring a smile to my face. However, much like the deceptively pretty Lily of the Valley, the larkspur are very toxic to humans and animals! Despite their poisonous nature, they can represent positivity, love, or success depending on their color. But the larkspur plant itself symbolizes an open heart. How perfect is that for our theme of renewal? Because it's precisely with an open heart that we hope you greet this season of new beginnings and fresh opportunities.
Throughout the video tutorial, we'll look at some advanced techniques to help you bring your Crepe Paper Larkspur to life! For instance, we'll guide you through shaping, shading, curling, and more to achieve the most realistic results. If you don't have the materials for this project on hand — no worries! You can order the project bundle .
Once you're finished with your Crepe Paper Larkspur, sit back and admire the delicate fruits of your labor. These would look beautiful in a bud vase or as colorful spring accents to a larger arrangement. When you have them styled the way you want, be sure to take a picture and share it with us in our crafters' community or on Instagram with #MadeWithLia!

I am a little discouraged about the leaves, as I do not have a cutting machine. How do I cut those by hand?? Thank you.
Erin! I did not forget about you. In fact you inspired me to make a little video on how I cut out these detailed leaves by hand and you can find it here in about the middle of this post. Let me know what you think. Yours was a really good question. 🙂
Oh Lia, thank you so much for putting this little video together!! It really helped me to see it all done by hand, it helped to relax me a bit!! 😅 I don’t need to panic! I really appreciate it!
Wonderful! You can do it. Just take your time and relax into the tiny cuts. I had a good time.
You say there is a video?
Yes, available on March 28.
We posted it early! You can see it here now!
I love these, so pretty. I have not been able to print the template for these, it’s a blank screen
Hmm. I just checked the file and it looks good. You are printing the PDF, not the SVG, right?
Have a 50th anniversary party tomorrow so decided to plow ahead before video. Just finished. Love them! No gifts so thought of having them with our card – have decided to help protect them will attach to a bottle of wine. Maybe make white wine bag to show them off if I have time.
Thank you!!!
Go Alexandra!! I want to see photos! 🙂
Posted in community board. 1st time I saw the wine wrap project – absolutely love. I definitely will never do another wine bag again. Just the wrap in white with the flowers and no other addition on top looks great. Thank you again!
I just saw them! Gorgeous.
Little pieces but love how dainty it looks. I did find the hardest part was wrapping the stems near the flower. Solved this issue by adding the petal with the tail after I wrapped the stem. Hope this helps others struggling with this.
That is a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
Definitely making these!! Great filler flower.
They are stunning on their own too! Worth the tiny petals. 🙂
These are so intricate and sweet! 🩷
They are! Video coming!
