Winter Table Design with Velvet
So Very Velvet
This holiday season, throw the ultimate dinner party with the help of Spoonflower and the Lia Griffith team! Working with our friends over at Spoonflower, we made our design dreams a reality and created two stunning velvet fabrics — Green Pine and Floral Watercolor. With these personalized fabrics, we created a table runner and vertical place mats. To replicate the table setting you see in the photos, you will need a yard of the floral fabric and a half yard of the pine. The finished table runner is approximately six feet long and eighteen inches wide, while the place mats are eighteen inches long by nine inches wide.
Tips
Make sure to cut and sew your velvet in the direction of the fabric’s grain. This particular velvet does not fray easily, so rolling once along the edges will be plenty. If you choose to double roll, keep in mind that the velvet is a thicker fabric and will bulk up quickly. If you’re running short on time, skip the sewing altogether! Order a set Organic Cotton Sateen or Linen Cotton Canvas napkins, place mats or table runner from Roostery.com.
