3D Paper Cabin
Bring some winter woodland charm to your home with our 3D paper cabin. Designer Krista has a knack for all crafts adorable. In addition to this whimsical craft, she has also made these cute woodland ornaments. For this project, we recommend using a cutting machine. But if you don’t have access to a cutting machine, you can cut out our template using an X-Acto blade and ruler for just as beautiful of results.

Cabin Fever
If you’re stuck inside due to snow or you just like to hibernate a bit more during the month of December, this is a great winter craft to work on. Not only is it super cute and easy to make—it’s also a perfect addition to your holiday décor. We placed our 3D paper cabin in a glass dome with some battery-powered tea lights to give it that warm Christmasy feel.
Steps
- Gather the tools and materials listed above. Then download the pattern at the end of this post.
- Cut and score the paper and vellum pieces according to the template (a cutting machine is recommended). If cutting by hand, print your PDF directly onto paper and cut with an X-Acto blade. Use a bone folder and ruler to score along the dotted lines.
- Fold the tabs and roof of the cabin pieces inwards where scored. Glue the wooden beams onto the front using tacky glue and a small flat paintbrush. Line the beams up with the small window in the middle.
- Flip it over and glue vellum inside to cover the windows.

Almost all of our projects have SVGs. At this point we do not have a price per design but the membership is such a good deal that you would be paying less than $1-2 per project if you downloaded only 7 per month.
Why can’t I get the sag to come up so I can download it?

Going to give this one a try. Quick question though, when the svg’s load into design space, the shorelines come in as cut lines. I could change them on other projects but this one is harder to figure out. Am I doing something wrong bringing them in?

Hi Carol,
Simply ungroup the layers, then in the layers tab to the right select the layers that are thin lines and change those to score.

There are two sizes online: 10″ and 7″ Which one did you guys used?
We used both– 10″ for the cabin, 7″ for the tree.

I am a big fan of your paper luminaires. I purchased one last year at Joann’s craft store.
Is this one available to purchase as well.
I do not have a cricket machine that I could use to cut these out.
I would really like to have this one.
Hi Renee, unfortunately we only made a few of our projects into kits, and this wasn’t one of them. We hope to manufacture more in the future! We do includes PDFs of most of our papercut projects since we know not all of our members have Cricut machines!
