Materials

PDF Pattern or SVG Cut Files
Text Weight Paper:
- Assorted colors from Citrus, Melon and Succulent Pack

– OR –

Cardstock:
- Yellow, Orange Sherbet, Pale Blossom, Hillary, and Ivy

– AND –

Peony POP!

All you have to do is visit Paper-Papers website to download either the SVG or PDF files, then cut. Follow along with our photo tutorial below to learn how to assemble.

Steps

Gather tools and materials. To make 1 large flower, you will need 16 8.5x11 for petals, 1 8.5x11 for center. For 1 medium flower, 14 8.5x11 for petals, 1 8.5x11 for center. For 1 small flower, 9 8.5x11 for petals, 1 8.5x11 for center. For leaves, 3 8.5x11 to make the two leaves.
Cut paper according to template notes using scissors or a cutting machine.
Fold the center piece in half.
Roll the center piece and use hot glue to hold.
Using the curling tool curl all of the petals.
Glue three of the small petals to the base of the center in rotation.
Continue gluing the remaining small petals around the flower in layers of three.
Repeat step 7 with the medium sized petals.
To finish the flower glue the six large petals evenly around the flower in layers of three.
Use the curling tool to shape and curl leaves.
Use hot glue to attach a wire to the back of the leaves.

I have been trying to get this to work on my silhouette cameo 3 . i have tried both svg and pdf. When i try to open the file through silhouette it says file type not supported. i know for a fact that both file types are supported. very frustrating

Try make on my cricut t marker and pop up from the machine said Project incompatible this project is not supported by your machine.

I have spent all afternoon trying to get my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut the Metallic Peony pattern. First problem was my machine telling me a piece was more than 23.5in and too big to fit on mat. That was a head scratcher…none of the patterns were anywhere near that size. I finally realized my machine saw the Lia Griffith logo and the entire blank canvas area as a cut…so I x’d that out..ok that was fixed. Next my machine was reading only cut 2 petals of everything else. I tried duplicating the large petal first…instead of duplicating just that petal it was duplicating everything! I give up…has to be another pattern out there for a pretty peony svg. Worried if any sites are safe…bought a couple patterns from Dreamyposy and 2 days later my credit card was hacked. Got the cricut for Christmas and have shed more tears of frustration than made anything pretty.

… etc, etc. BUT ‘groups of three’ – yet we cut 16 petals for the large, and 14 for the medium. if used in groups of 3 there will be 1 large petal left over, and 2 medium petal left over. What gives?

  The numbers you see are the number of 8.5×11 sheets of paper you will need in each color for each flower size if you cut multiple petals out of one sheet of paper. Please refer to the PDF template for the number of petals you need for each flower size.

  Text weight paper refers to the weight of the paper, the weight is most similar to thin copy paper versus the weight of heavier card stock paper.

Hello,
I am attempting to make these flowers for a backdrop at a party. I am confused about the number of sheets and petals I need to print. The directions above say Large Flower – 16 8.5×11 for petals, 1 8.5×11 for center; Medium Flower – 13 8.5×11 for petals, 1 8.5×11 for center; Small Flower – 3 8.5×11 for petals, 1 8.5×11 for center. But when I open the PDF file I see different numbers on each page. For example page 1 of the PDF directs to cut 6 petals for the small flower then, page 2 directs to cut 15 petals for a small flower. Can you help me please?

  The directions indicate how many sheets of paper you’ll need to make each flower. The pattern directs you how many petals to cut from those sheets of paper. Does that make sense?

  It depends how much you curl the petals (the more curling, the tighter the blooms will be) but ours were approximately 18″, 12″ and 8″ wide in diameter.

What is the base of the flower? Is it a circle or hexagon?

  Hi Sue! There isn’t a base to the flowers. The petals fill in enough and overlap that a base isn’t needed.

We made a bunch of these for a non-profit gala and they turned out BEAUTIFULLY. We cut by hand, curled by hand, and used tissue paper for the yellow centers.
