Due to popular demand, we are finally making a crepe paper gladiolus! In fact, so many of you requested this flower that we decided it would be a good Member Make project. As with most of our Member Make projects, Meagan has taken the time to design a gorgeous flower for us all to make. We have listed everything you need below so you can get ready for our live workshop on the 19th. If you have any questions before then, be sure to let us know. Along with getting your tools and materials ahead of time, you can also download the flower pattern on the right hand side of the post.

- Lia Griffith Extra-Fine Crepe Paper — Juniper, Fern, Linen
- Lia Griffith Double-Sided Crepe Paper — Ferns + Moss
- Floral Tape — Fern & Moss
- PanPastel — Pearlescent Yellow, Magenta Tint, Bright Yellow Green, and Bright Yellow Green Shade
- Thick Paper-Covered Stem Wire
- 24-Gauge White Paper-Covered Wire
- Tacky Glue or Art Glitter Glue

We had some new members join us for last month's Member Make! And it really makes me and my team happy to see so many more people crafting right now. Whether you're brand-new to making flowers or have been crafting for years, there's always something new to learn. And we're always grateful to be your guides and support you along your creative journey.
With that being said, we can't wait to show you how to make these crepe paper gladiolus flowers. These flowers are known for their tall flower spikes and large blooms. But their blooms can range in size from less than three inches in diameter to greater than five inches across. The plants can also be anywhere from two to five feet tall and come in a variety of colors.
As you can probably tell, there's a lot of room for creativity with this flower when it comes to size and color. We made our crepe paper gladiolus flowers on the smaller side, but you can always play around with your flowers and see what you like best. That's what Member Make is all about!

How to Join Our Member Make Challenge

- Gather the craft tools and materials you need for these crepe paper gladiolus flowers— listed below. Then download the printable flower template or SVG file at the end of this post.
- Join our YouTube Live on June 19th at 11:00 a.m. PST to craft this project with us! We will share the link to join on the Facebook page for members and send it to members who are on our email list. It will also be available for playback here once the live workshop is over.
- Watch our video tutorial to craft along with us and create your own version of these crepe paper gladiolus flowers. You can use different colors of paper, materials, or techniques; play around with your arrangement; or style your flowers in different ways.

Leave a CommentI’d love to make these but I don’t have any crepe paper yet. Is there any way to make these out of felt, or is it too thick?
I think, given the level of detail in this design, it will be too much for felt. …and what fixative do you recommend?
We like the Krylon brand. Either matte finish or UV are good.
A little more zoom would be helpful ☺️

This is my first time I am doing a member’s make. I have the Cricut Explorer 2 and I don’t think it cuts crepe paper. Should I have the PDF template already cut out before the presentation or will you cover it during the class?

Correct, the only Cricut machine that cuts crepe paper is the Maker. We start off class with everything cut and ready to make!
Hi Pamela,
The Cricut explore does not cut crepe paper. If you would like to craft along with us we would recommend cutting the crepe paper petals and leaves prior to watching. In this project there is a bit of drying time needed for the stamen so don’t get discouraged if you cannot keep up as we always prep a bit before the live. Remember, you can always go back and watch later if needed! 🙂

I’m so excited to join the member make for my first time! The flowers I’ve made on my own are beautiful (parrot tulips and Sarah peonies). I love watching the videos for all the little tips! Every early summer, the glads at my grandma’s farm explode with colors so they remind me of home. I plan to send a crepe paper glad to my grandma after this session. I saw your crepe paper line in a Blick art store email back in April, and I was hooked instantly. We owned a plant nursery and green house growing up, and I did floral arts for 4H competition. This is a super fun throw back and new skill mash up. I love it. Thank you!

I have Windows 10 and when I click on the button above “click, download & print” I get a very small printout which will fit on one piece of paper. Unfortunately, it is so small I can’t read the instructions. How do I make the printout larger??

Are you referring to the photo tutorial? If so, when the download opens in your webpage you should be able to zoom in and then print from the webpage, the tutorial will then print zoomed in and on multiple pages.
Hi there – can outstretched heavy crepe be used in place of the extra fine crepe? How much should I stretch it before cutting it out on the Cricut?

You can use heavy crepe to replace extra fine if that is what you have on hand. I would recommend stretching the crepe no more than 50% before cutting. 🙂
