VIDEO: Crepe Paper Silver Dollar Eucalyptus
Eucan make this
A few months back, we had a member request that we make a crepe paper silver dollar eucalyptus. Since we only had made this type of eucalyptus out of vellum paper, we were happy to design a new version. Plus it felt like a good fit for our celestial theme with its silvery-white sheen underneath the leaves.
You can make this project on your own using our printable template or SVG file at the end of the post. All of the tools and materials you will need are listed below along with our video tutorial to help guide you.

Although this crepe paper silver dollar eucalyptus branch is a bit time-consuming to make, it's an easy craft project. For reference, it took Meagan about 1.5 hours to make one branch. But it's worth it! These eucalyptus branches are so gorgeous and in less than 5 hours you can have a bundle of branches that will look great in a vase or as a filler in your DIY bouquets.
To get that perfect dusty green color for our crepe paper silver dollar eucalyptus, Meagan used the Design Master Colortool spray in herbal on 10x12 pieces of crepe paper before cutting the leaf shapes on the Maker. If you cannot find the Design Master spray in herbal, you could also use PanPastel colors in “Chromium Oxide Green Tint” (660.8) on the leaves after they have been cut and assembled. Just apply the PanPasel using an art sponge or soft paintbrush.

Leave a CommentCan you suggest an alternative to the bind wire for the stems? Would bark floral tape work. Or maybe that’s too dark. I have espresso crepe but that is definitely quite dark. Or maybe pan pastel on crepe?
You can use the 24-gauge wire for sure. I personally do not use floral tape anymore, so the espresso crepe with a PanPastel dusting might work. Or you can use a green crepe and change the color with PanPastel.
Can you recommend something other than spray paint to use to color these? Would pan pastel work? If so, what color might you suggest? I really do not like using sprays, if I can avoid it.
I agree, I am not keen on the spray. I would use the phthalo green PanPastel. https://feltpaperscissors.com/product/panpastel-artist-pastel-phthalo-green-tint-620-8/
I love the background music for this video. Can I find it on the web? It is so calming and it would be wonderful to play it while I’m working on the flowers. Thanks so much.
Hi! It’s a stock music selection but will see if I can find out the name 🙂
I can’t find any place that has the DM Colortool Herbal. What would be a good substitute? Thank you.’
It’s available here: https://www.createforless.com/DesignMasterColortoolSprayPaint12oz.673Herbal/pid341728.aspx!
That was it! Thank you! How did I not remember something so recent?
No worries, there’s a lot happening lately 🙂
I made these for my daughters bridal bouquet, and they are lovely! But, I KNOW I also saw a video where Lia did a stem variation and darned if I can find it again. I want the stems for the boutonnière and corsages-can you please reply with link?
Hi! Are you thinking of the live video I did talking about the Spring Summit? https://liagriffith.com/spring-summit-maker-workshops/
Hey Lia, this link is broken, do you happen to have an updated link?
Which link are you referring to? I just checked all the downloads and they are there.
Sorry, I meant the link in this comment above: https://liagriffith.com/spring-summit-maker-workshops/
Oh goodness, yes. We moved some things around. This is the link. https://liagriffith.com/hand-tied-crepe-flower-bouquets/
I found the bind wire difficult to open up to put on the wire fpr the eucalyptus. I found if I used the needle nosed tweezers and after unwinding or loosening the paper at the end of the wire, if I stuck the needle nosed tweesers in the center of the hole at the tip of the wire I could open the paper very easily and flatten to add the wire. I also clipped about a 1/4″ inch of the wire at the end and it was easier to wrap around the stem. This would also be a great stem/branch to use for maybe the Quince or apple blossoms.
I LOVE those tweezers. Brilliant tip, Pamela.
