Become a MemberThese Crepe Paper Garden Roses are a great beginner to intermediate-level craft. Still, we encourage all skill levels to give this lovely project a try. The intricate details may seem difficult, but our handy list of tools and materials will make it all come together beautifully. Due to these roses’ fresh, organic look, you’re welcome to cut your petals by hand. However, there are quite a lot of them, so we highly recommend a cutting machine for time’s sake.
Valentine’s Day and roses go hand in hand — so these Crepe Paper Garden Roses were the perfect choice for this month’s collection. Symbolizing love, passion, and beauty, roses are the undisputed queens of the holiday. When designing this piece, we tried to include almost everything that makes roses so fascinating. Gently curling petals, realistic details, and soft, delicate hues make these Crepe Paper Garden Roses a sumptuous feast for the senses. The only thing missing is their sweet perfume and maybe a bug or two!
With a few crafting tips and tricks, you’ll soon have a batch of beautiful blooms rivaled only by the real deal. We chose our double-sided crepe paper in the dreamiest shades of peach, green, and cream for a soft, elegant feel. Then, we used our curling tool to gently shape the petals to mimic the natural curl of real roses. It’s those tiniest details that result in a truly swoon-worthy piece.
Make these roses in whatever double sided crepe paper color you wish, you may even choose to make your own double sided using our extra fine crepe paper and fusible webbing. One of our roses is made using diy double side blush.
When you’re all finished, place them in a vase to beautify a side table or add some romantic charm to your workstation. Of course, these Crepe Paper Garden Roses would also make a wonderful gift for someone special this Valentine’s Day. After all, you really can’t go wrong with roses.
We truly can’t wait to see your blooming beauties, so be sure to share your gorgeous work in our crafter’s community. Additionally, you can tag us on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.

on the vanilla/white rose is the white on the inside or outside of the flower?
Your choice! Sometimes I even switch the direction inside one rose to give variety.
These are stunning!!!!!! absolutely love them. thank you thank you for this design
They are one of our favorites. 🙂
Can you recommend a tutorial that shows the best way to put the leaves together, please?
Yes! We have a lot of videos where we make these leaves. Here is another version of the rose with a full video.https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-hybrid-tea-rose/
Also, we are doing the master class this month, starting Monday. It is a great way to get started! https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/a-beginners-guide-to-crepe-paper-flowers-vol-2/
Hi. I was wondering, what is the blush extra fine crepe paper used for that is listed in the materials? I didn’t see it referenced in the pdf directions.
So sorry Krista, that was a mistype and you do not need extra fine blush for this flower. However, if you already purchased it this flower can be made with extra fine crepe and would be beautiful in blush!
Thank you!
Hi Lia and Team,
The turorial says to cut a dip into only 4 medium petals but there are 6 medium petals. I can’t tell from the pictures if this is correct. so, my question is…do you cut a dip in the top of just 4 petals or all 6?
Thanks so much,
Jayne
Just the 4. It is to add variety to the petals. 🙂
I see. Thank you!
Found this quite difficult as I’m a real beginner but so happy I battled on. The rose has turned out gorgeous. Many thanks
This one is a bit more difficult than others we have, but good for you! Have you signed up for our upcoming crepe paper class yet? I think you would LOVE it!! https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/a-beginners-guide-to-crepe-paper-flowers-vol-2/
How to access photo tutorial? I thought this was a Member Make. D
The photo tutorial is in the download file. They are all together. Our MM this months was the double tulip.
Is there a video for this one? I’m not seeing it.
This on is just the photo tutorial.
Hello,
I’m a very beginner and I would like to know how you know which crepe paper to use for which part? The double-side is use for what? The extra fine is used for what?
Thank you for your help! It’s a brand new world to me!
Sylvie
Welcome Sylvie! For this template, if you open the PDF you can see where each type is listed on the pattern. Hope that helps!
Here is a great post for beginners that has nine flowers with videos that are perfect for beginners. https://liagriffith.com/9-paper-flower-tutorials-for-beginners/
Thank you so much! I didn’t open that file, I used the SVG.
Thank you for the link too! 🙂
Oh good!!
I sent an earlier e mail complaining about pdf patterns and tutorial access. Think I solved it on this end, so please disregard. I look forward to another year of crafting. Thank you.
Joanne Rowan
Great! Yes, we moved it to the right and up higher so it would be easier to access. Hope you like the new change. 🙂
Heads up : template and directions call for 8 of the largest petals, but the .svg only has 7 when you upload it. Will need to duplicate one for full pattern. Otherwise, this rose is super easy to do and the result is awesome!!
Thanks for catching this, the SVG file has been updated!
