Crepe Paper Lavender Video Workshop
Lovely Lavender
Nothing says “slow down and savor the moment” quite like a pot of lavender — especially when you get to craft it by hand, stem by stem. For this month’s Crafternoon, we’re inviting you (and your craft besties) to join us live on YouTube, on Thursday, July 3 at noon PT, to make your own Crepe Paper Potted Lavender.

This free workshop is all about easy, joyful crafting. If you’re brand new to paper flowers, this is the perfect beginner project to dip your scissors in. For example, we’ll guide you through every step of turning extra-fine crepe paper into delicate lavender sprigs. Additionally, we'll even teach you how to create double-sided crepe, or “laminated” paper, using fusible web. It’s a fun little skill that opens up a whole new world of craft possibilities!
This project works best when done by hand, so no fancy cutting machine is necessary. In fact, you'll need only your craft scissors, detail scissors, scalloped pinking shears, and a fringe clip to make those tiny, textured blossoms come alive. So, a quick curl here, and a dab of glue there — and you’ll be done before you know it. You’ll have a sweet potted bunch of Crepe Paper Lavender that looks inviting on a windowsill or to give away as a thoughtful present. As a twist, you can mist your petals with a little lavender oil so they smell just as good as they look.
Lavender and self-care have gone hand in hand for centuries. This calming little herb has long been used to soothe restless minds and encourage relaxation. I can’t think of a better way to capture that same spirit than with an afternoon What better way to capture that same spirit than with an afternoon of hands-on making. As you shape each sprig, you’re not only crafting — you’re giving yourself a break.
So, gather your supplies, invite a few friends, and turn your creative escape into a self-care party. Besides, you absolutely deserve it.
We’ll see you live on Thursday, July 3rd and we can’t wait. Remember to share your amazing work with the rest of our community or on social media with #MadeWithLia.

Can I use the fusible web with the iron to attach it to the crepe paper? Thank you very much for your reply 🙂
Have a nice day !!
Yes, you can use an iron with no steam. It works just as well. I like the heat press because it’s so large. 🙂
i am not getting this as a svg file but a pdf file. can you please check. Thanks
There is no SVG file for this project. It is so much easier to cut by hand. 🙂
These are so pretty! The pics just don’t do them justice. Love them!
So true! I love making them too. 🙂
Would love to see a mini wreath made using these with some greenery.
Ooh! We made mini wreaths with rosemary (https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-mini-rosemary-wreath/) but love the idea of lavender!
Hi.
hmmm. The svg file is bizarre. Please check it. I uploaded the file to design space and its like 19.044″ by 289.23″ . The file is HUGE, but the purple crepe paper design with all the little slits, is a sliver. I tried resizing, but it was just weird. Can you fix this? Thanks
Whoa! Thank you for pointing that out, how bizarre. The file has been fixed.
