Crepe Paper Winecraft Gold Smokebush Video Workshop
Smoke Show
Greenery doesn’t have to mean "just" green. Our Crepe Paper Winecraft Gold Smokebush starts with fresh leafy tones and turns up the color with warm red-tipped leaves, giving you a branch that feels like it’s caught somewhere between summer and fall.

In fact, this Crepe Paper Winecraft Gold Smokebush Video Workshop is a great project for practicing the little details that make handmade foliage feel more natural. If you enjoyed creating the layered branches in our Crepe Paper Salal Master Class Workshop, you’ll get another chance to play with shape and movement here. However, Winecraft Gold smokebush brings its own personality with rounded leaves, slender stems, and that distinctive flush of color at the tips.
During this workshop, we’ll really focus on color technique to build the smokebush’s distinctive look. We start with Fern extra-fine crepe paper and build from there, while Blue Green Shade and Permanent Red PanPastel create shifts in tone across the leaves. Additionally, a Spring Green brush marker creates even more variation. Instead of giving every leaf identical coloring, vary the intensity from one to another. As a result, the finished branch feels much more organic.
Shape matters just as much as color for this project. We’ll define the leaf veins and use a curling tool to add natural movement. Meanwhile, flexible floral wire lets the branches get a little unruly — all part of the smokebush charm.
Of course, these Crepe Paper Winecraft Gold Smokebush are made for mixing and matching. Add a few to a handmade flower arrangement for height and movement, or pair them with our Crepe Paper Pink Echinacea to play up those warm red-gold tips. They’re also striking enough to fill a vase all on their own.
Finally, download the pattern and join us for the Crepe Paper Winecraft Gold Smokebush Video Workshop. Afterward, share your finished branches with our crafters’ community and on social media using #MadeWithLia.
FAQs
Can smokebush be used as greenery in floral arrangements?
Yes. Its branching shape and rounded leaves make smokebush a beautiful foliage element for adding height, movement, and contrast to arrangements.
What flowers pair well with smokebush?
Smokebush works especially well with larger statement flowers because its airy branches fill space without competing with the blooms. For fall arrangements, try pairing it with dahlias, chrysanthemums, or other richly colored flowers.
