Back to school can be a very exciting time for kids. I remember how much I loved getting ready for school to start when I was young. I would pick out the cutest paper goods I could find, organize all of my school supplies, and think of the outfits that I could wear at school. Of course, one of the most stylish accents to add to your outfits is a super cool backpack. Here are two designs that you can add to kids backpacks to create a stand-out school accessory for your little ones!
To make these kids backpacks, start with any standard backpack and wool felt in colors of your choosing. We have PDF templates for two backpack designs: a monster and a kitty. Print the templates and use these as a guide for cutting your felt pieces. If you like the colorful backpacks that we used for our project, I have also added a link to where you can buy them for yourself. Below you will find separate photo tutorials for our monster backpack and our kitty backpack. Reference these while you are sewing your backpack, or follow the instructions that are included with each template!
