Cardstock Succulent Wreath
Evergreen Elegance
Some projects never lose their magic, inviting us back year after year with the same sense of wonder and creative joy. Our Cardstock Succulent Wreath is a perfect example. We originally designed this wreath back in 2013 (the very first year of our site!), and it has remained one of our most beloved paper craft projects to this day. We decided it was about time to give this project a refresh, so we’re updating the look with our signature cardstock and a full photo tutorial.

We love the look of a fresh floral wreath, but due to weather challenges or a lack of resources — it’s not always possible to get exactly what you want. However, if you’re looking to create a wreath that stays beautiful all season, every season, then this project is for you.Â
This Cardstock Succulent Wreath is a fantastic way to practice your paper crafting skills. Each paper succulent is cut, shaped, and hand-layered to mimic the lush look, texture, and color variations of the real deal. Due to the sheer volume of petals and leaves, we highly recommend using your cutting machine for this project. This wreath is very much a labor of love, but the result is well worth it.
To create dimension in our Cardstock Succulent Wreath, we used a mix of soft greens and deep emeralds. Additionally, we added exciting pops of purple to give it a modern, contemporary feel. Once your pieces are cut and ready to assemble, shape each petal and leaf with a steel ball tool to create that signature succulent look. Then you just layer, glue, and arrange until your wreath looks full and beautiful.
When your Cardstock Succulent Wreath is ready to display, please remember to share it with us. Whether you hang it on your front door or above your fireplace, we can’t wait to see how you’ve reimagined this site favorite. Upload your pictures into our crafters’ community or tag us on social media with #MadeWithLia.

Leave a CommentThere is a problem for download the cardstock succulent wreath.
There was an extra download button. That one has been removed, and now it should be working fine. Thanks for pointing that out.
were is tr
he download on how to put together
It is in the download folder with the templates.
This pattern is labeled, “Felt and Iron on Wearable Fairy Wings”. Is this the correct template for the cardstock succulent wreath?
Fixed the title! But its the correct template 🙂
Hi! I love your projects! Where is the full photo tutorial? Thank you1
“We decided it was about time to give this project a refresh, so we’re updating the look with our signature cardstock and a full photo tutorial.”
Yes! It is coming. We got a tad backed up this month. 🙂
No photo tutorial??
It is coming! 🙂
Recently downloaded succulents pattern. Do you ever post specifics for projects like your succulent wreath, as in how many flowers of each type and size of wreath form? Also, the patterns all came on one layer. Is there a way to detach each flower individually at your end to make this more friendly? I am new to cricut.
This is an older project and we are being much more specific with all of the projects currently and for the last few years. We have learned what people like. This is an oldie, but goodie though. . . it deserves an update. 🙂
Hi, do you have a video step by step of how to paste it?
There are step-by-step tutorials here! https://liagriffith.com/four-paper-succulent-tutorials/
I finally finished my wreath. It was so much fun.
How do I send you a picture of it?
Yay! You can send a photo to hello@liagriffith.com or post it on our Facebook page 🙂
Your wreath is gorgeous. I want to teach my senior ladies how to make these. I have made several myself, but I do have problems with the center. Could you give some suggestions on how to make the centers? thanks
How nice! What kind of trouble do you have with the centers? One thing you may want to try if you haven’t already is to use text weight paper instead of cardstock as done in this original project (text weight is used here: https://liagriffith.com/diy-paper-succulents/, and here: https://liagriffith.com/jumbo-paper-succulents/). It’s easier to manipulate and move text weight paper!
Could you estimate how much it cost to make this wreath? I’d love to try it, but I’m on a bit of a budget. I’m also wondering if I could use craft paper rather than cardstock, since I think it might be cheaper
You can really use anything for this wreath! Our paper was from Micheal’s and is a mix or cardstock and text weight paper, so if you go that route I would say it would cost about $25-$30.
Not sure. Micheal’s paper collection isn’t always consistent. You may have to just pick out whatever looks nice to you. I did use all cardstock.
Can you please tell me what type of cardstock you are using to make this?
I found it at Michaels.
Exciting work you’ve done! I’d like your diy wreath to be featured on my blog. Could you be so kind as to let me introduce you to Greek bloggers?
That would be great! There is a terms of use you can refer to. It basically says you can use the photos and link back to the tutorial and printable download. Hugs to you and Greece!
I absolutely love this! Our company designs succulent wreaths and sells them on Etsy but this is such a great alternative!!
Oh my, what a beautiful and fun wreath to make 🙂 I can’t wait to try it out. Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
One of my favorites!
AWESOME creation as usual! We are going to SFO in Oct. what are you fav things to do while there?
The art museums! Last trip I went to Legion of Honor where they had the Impressionists. Not sure how long it is there. I have my set of shops I like to visit for inspiration (Castles in the Air in Berkley, Flax Art Supply, Flora Grubb of course). This trip I went to one of the Miette bakery/candy shops. Delightful!
Hi. My name is Jennifer. This wreath caught my eye while I was on Pinterest. First time at your site. How do I access directions or a tutorial for this? Is there a link someone can share? Thanks for your guidance.
Hi Jennifer. As I mentioned in the post, the tute and pattern is to follow, and now they are live! Enjoy!

There are ways to convert any image for a cut file for most machines. Google your machine and see what is out there in tutorials.

Lia, I swear you are psychic! I cannot wait for your next post. I was wondering though, if it is at all possible if you could also include an .svg file format for my Portrait to cut? It would be awesome because I was hoping to “succulent” up the home :-p
Again, you’re awesome Lia!
So happy you like them. More arrangement coming too. I will see what I can do about the SVG.
