Double-Sided Crepe Paper Hibiscus—Video Workshop
Island Vibes
If ever there was a flower to embody the full spirit of summer, I believe it’s the hibiscus. Its unmistakable silhouette and broad, colorful petals make it a symbol of all things exotic and sunny. For our August Member Make, we’re leaning all the way into those tropical vibrations with these vibrant Double-Sided Crepe Paper Hibiscus Flowers.

Join us as we craft this Double-Sided Crepe Paper Hibiscus Flower together. Firstly, we'll begin working from rich shades of red, orange, and pink. Then, we’ll build large, expressive blooms with beautifully shaped petals and detailed centers. Additionally, the double-sided crepe paper gives us plenty of depth to work with, allowing the petals to shift in tone as they curve and catch the light.
And of course, we can't forget the greenery, as foliage adds an equally important layer to your finished Double-Sided Crepe Paper Hibiscus Flower. Deep green leaves and sturdy stems balanced against all that saturated color give the flowers a natural framework, making them easy to work into arrangements. For instance, create a single stem for a bold accent in a tropical bouquet, or make several to fill a vase with the feeling of an exotic getaway.
What we love most about Member Make is the opportunity to work side by side with you and the experience of creating something beautiful together. Whether you follow along live or return to the workshop later, you’ll have the chance to explore the techniques at your own pace while creating alongside our creative community. So, bring your questions, your favorite summer playlist, and perhaps a tropical drink, and settle in for an afternoon of paper flower making.
When your Double-Sided Crepe Paper Hibiscus Flowers are complete, share them with us on social media using #MemberMake. Above all, have fun with the process and let us see all the beauty you create.

18-gauge for the stem. 🙂
Could any of the double sided crepe paper work?
Yes! You can use any color you would like. Even make your own version.
Going to try the honeysuckle/coral and the apricot/light rose. They look similar to the hibiscus in my garden.i really like the technique for the centers better than the ones I did a few years ago. Thanks!
Those will be stunning! Yes, we are always looking to improve the designs as we improve our own skills. 🙂
