Felt Rudbeckia Sahara
In addition to the return of cooler weather, autumn is most notable for its beautiful tapestry of colors! Inspired by the dusky pinks and golds of the season, we’ve designed our latest felt flower creation to mimic those beautiful tones. This lovely Felt Rudbeckia Sahara is a fun project to experiment with pastels and should be easy to incorporate into your existing fall decor.
You can cut out the petals using a cutting machine with a rotary, but if you would like a more organic look, we recommend cutting the pieces out by hand. When you’re ready to start this beginner-friendly project, scroll down to our easy-to-follow tutorial below.

More commonly known as a Black-Eyed Susan, the Rudbeckia ‘Sahara’ is a flower variety with a chocolatey brown center and petals that range in colors from dusty pink and copper to amber — perfect for fall decorating. To replicate this, we used a combination of pastels blending out from the center of the flower.
I love the earthy, rustic look of these flowers. Place them in a pitcher near your kitchen window to add a little warmth to these cooler days, or add a few felt eucalyptus stems for a more elegant arrangement. These would make a gorgeous centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table or any other autumnal celebration.
We’d love to see where your felt Rudbeckia Sahara flowers end up, so please share your pics in our crafters’ community or on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.
