My Home/Office Tour: The New Prop Room
Goodies You Can't Google

Become a MemberAs my business grows, so does my office and as you could see from my updated office tour a few weeks ago, it was time to add desks and work stations to what once was the beautiful craft room. I will not lie, the entire main floor of my house is now all about business. The dining table is almost always covered with the next project or is set for a photo shoot and is tidied up when we need a conference table for a team meeting. Remember my lovely French inspired bedroom? Well it is now the new prop room and craft supply storage room.
One of the new team members here at the office is my niece Jessica. She definitely got our family creative gene and has come to Portland to be my craft & styling assistant. Not only is she helping me make the daily projects and set up for shoots, but she completely moved and organized this room for us. I don’t know what I would have done without her these last few months! Thanks you Jessica! Yes, we have a “bring your dog to work” office and you can see her pug mix, Sophie who is Enzo’s best friend. And another photo of sweet kitty Cleo who has found a cozy bed on the sewing table.
Enjoy the little photo tour and we will be back tomorrow with more fun Halloween projects. Cheers! ~ Lia

Love what you did with the space!
Are the roles of wrapping paper all your own designs?
Thank you for the beautiful templates and paper flowers….swoon!
Most of them, but not all:-)
I loved seeing a space where everything is not tucked away in a drawer or a closed cabinet. You get the sense that yes at times there might be overflow but right now everything is contained. You can see stuff!
It really helps when we are doing a photo shoot to be able to see everything out in the open too. 🙂
I SO Love your craft space! So organized and lovely! Totally off topic but I was wondering what weight card stock you typically use in your floral design. I was browsing Papers-papers.com and they have so many weights to choose from. In store I can usually feel a paper and gauge if it will be a good weight but online the poundage doesn’t mean much to me 🙂 any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I don’t use card stock at all as it does not curl nicely. I use text weight. Any of the text weights work well. You can filter down on the left hand column and select all of the text weights (there may be three). Does that help? 🙂
Hey, this is a test to see if my post will go through instead of saying “Your comment is awaiting moderation.” Not sure what is happening here.
Yes, we hold them in moderation so we can read every comment and respond. 😉 Otherwise all of your wonderful comments would get lost in the shuffle and that is not a good thing.
So colorful, neat and organized! Would love to see it mid “project” to know that you are just like the rest of we “slobs” LOL
Now that you say that, I DID take a before photo. I am going to have to add that to the post. Oh believe me. . . I am a slobby and the next. 😉
Truly amazing. Though I’m sad for the loss of your lovely home, I’m happy that your business is growing and your designs are spreading far and wide.
Well. . . on weekends my house can go back to normal and everything business stays in the two rooms. I say that but the truth is, I work on weekends too. I am guessing within a year we will move to an office space. 😉
Aquesta oficina o sala és una meravella, el gat molt llest …m’encanten els gats
Una abraçada maca!
🙂 I love cats too, used to have three. Now I have two dogs and one cat!
Very nice craft room. I just wish mine could be so neat and tidy. It is always a work in progress. Where do you find your crepe paper in large rolls?
I get all of my crepe from Carte Fini (cartefini.com).
Love it thanks for sharing. I live the white shelves..clean and crisp
LOVE white right now. Who would have thought. Haha.
If you need any more craft and styling assistants I might have to move over from Australia, what a lovely work day. So impressed with all you are achieving.
Wouldn’t that be fun! We do have a good time here. It is like working at the Chocolate Factory without the calories. 🙂
Beautifully organized!! Lia, what do you do with all the things you make?
Love your blog!
Thanks! It depends on the project. Sometimes I use them for our office or home decor. Sometimes I give them away. There are times when we recycle and make something else. I have a huge box of paper flowers and so happy I keep them because I end up reusing them often.

I am in absolute lust – a gorgeous room.
But it must have been heartbreaking to dismantle it’s previous incantation. Such a divine bedroom!

Well, I can always put it back when we move to an office space, right? Note that the curtains, wall color and chandelier are still in tact. 😉
it all looks wonderfully enterprising, lia! so many interesting things to look at! thank you for showing us 🙂
We have to keep all the stuff in order. haha.
I am worried about you Lia. Where are you sleeping?? Also, if Jessica would like to take a road trip to Eastern Washington wine country, I could use her help organizing my new craft room!!! Your rooms look great, as always, I see some great ideas I plan to copy!!
You are so sweet! We have a basement in the house there Jessie and I both have bedrooms and a bathroom. I miss my gorgeous bedroom, but love the reason I gave it up. 😉 So here is something funny. . . Jessica is from Walla Walla where her parents (my sister & hubby) home is. So she does travel to Eastern Washington wine country! haha.
Total eye candy. Looks beautiful.
Thanks Marijean!
I love it. Thank you for sharing. I do ask were did you get the white shelves for the hot glue, scissors….I can’t wait to redo my are with inspiration from yours. Thanks again. Hugs…
Those are from Ikea. They are called Alex. We stacked two and did not include the wheels which helps save on space.
Not only is Jessica talented, she is just lovely! So happy you have someone to help you so you can keep coming up with wonderful ideas for all of us.
She is lovely! I am blessed that she is here.
This is amazing. Few things are better than an organized craft room! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I agree that few things are better than an organized craft room and office. Now I just got to make sure it stays that way;-)
