Craft yourself a tropical escape with this paper anthurium. We’ve paired this unique flower with some insanely realistic leaves to complete our paradise project. Below you’ll find everything you need to make your paper anthurium and leaves as well as some new exclusive tips and tricks to achieving lifelike texture. So throw on your sunglasses and flip flops and let’s go on a tropical craft-cation.

  1. Gather the tools and materials.
  2. Cut and score the paper according to pattern notes using scissors and the scoring tool.
  3. Wrap the top 3 inches of the wire with a piece of tissue, make the tip smaller and gradually get larger as you move down, secure with glue.
  4. Cover the wrapped tissue with white floral tape.
  5. Use Panpastels to color both sides of the cut paper, we use three colors to ombre ours.
  6. Color the tip of the stamen green with Panpastels, then wrap the wire with floral tape three times to thicken the stem.
  7. Spray the paper and stamen with a gloss finish to set the Panpastel.
  8. Place the stem through the hole in the flower, glue it in place where the stem meets the stamen, place glue on the under side of the flower.
  9. Paint both sides of the crepe paper with mod podge then allow it to dry completely.
  10. Cut the crepe paper according to pattern notes.
  11. Glue a wire in between the two leaf halves.
  12. Wrap the stem with floral tape three times to thicken the stem.
