Papercut Canal House Luminaries for Halloween
Paper houses are a fun and simple way to decorate for any holiday. In the past we have designed Halloween houses with bats and ghosts, but this year we decided to keep it simple so you can use this pattern in various ways. For example, instead of using black cardstock for your papercut canal house luminaries, you could use a metallic copper or dark burgundy if you want them to have more of a fall vibe.
Due to all of the small and intricate pieces that need to be cut out, we recommend using a cutting machine for this project. Or you can always use our printable template and a detail knife.

Creep calm and craft on
These papercut canal house luminaries give off just the right amount of creepiness for Halloween. Using our pattern, you can make as many houses as you want for your mantel or console table. And you can always switch up the colors of paper you use depending on your theme or the rest of your Halloween decor. The final touch is adding the LED tea lights inside for an eerie glow.

Thanks Lia that worked beautifully. Can you share why that worked.?
That layer is specifically to cut the vellum sheets rather than the paper. It looked like somehow Cricut added them to the same cut. It shouldn’t! They just did an update so sometimes we see little bugs in the software show up. You can now hide all the house layers and cut the vellum. Sometimes, it just takes a workaround. lol
I’m having a problem with this file. I tried to cut them out but the cricut continues to cut out the front side and the peak of the house from the rest of the body. When you look Ian it in design space all the score lines are in the right place. I’ve deleted the file off my I pad and re downloaded it. Same problem. I tried another one of the houses but it did the same thing. Any suggestions?. Thanks.
Is it the shape of the vellum layer? I am wondering if you hide those layers if it will work?
