Beginner Crepe Paper Asiatic Lilies
Pure, Simple, and Breathtaking
Crepe paper has always been our medium of choice at Lia Griffith, and this lily shows you why. We cut the petals from our heavy crepe in Snowflake, with Basil and Juniper for the leaves and stems. Heavy crepe is a perfect beginner medium as it holds a curve beautifully, so each petal keeps that gentle arch that a real lily has. And unlike the fresh ones, this bloom will still look this good years from now. No wilting. No watering.

The centers are my favorite part. We shape the stamens from polymer clay in a suede brown, which is a fun option if you are making your first flower or if you are working on these lilies with a young crafter.
You do not need a cutting machine for this project. The templates come as both SVG files and printable PDFs, so you can cut by hand with sharp scissors or let your Cricut do it. Gather the supplies from the list, download your templates, and follow the photo tutorial at your own pace.
In the garden, Asiatic lilies bloom from late spring into midsummer. In crepe paper, they bloom whenever you want them to. Tuck one into an arrangement with bolder blooms or let a few stems stand on their own in a tall vase.
Download your templates and let's make something beautiful.

Leave a CommentWhat size are these lilies
They are around 5-6 inches when finished. You can reduce or enlarge the template, too.
Hi Lia, I have a doubt… I would like to know if before cutting the crepe paper you stretch yhe paper and then cut the `petals and leaves or not. I never know if you do it or it is not necessary
ALso I would like to know if you have any tip to cut the petals iand that they are V-shaped
Thanks a lot in advance
Elena
Hello Elena. This is an older project, and we did not stretch it, but you certainly can if you prefer. For cutting petals at an angle (v-shape) I show this in many video tutorials. If you have not taken our master class yet, I highly encourage you to give it a try. You will learn everything you need to know to craft crepe paper flowers with confidence. https://liagriffith.com/craft-academy/a-beginners-guide-to-crepe-paper-flowers-vol-2/
Love your flowers, video also. I just can’t afford to join a club and buy products.
We do two free videos on our YouTube channel monthly and have a freebie section. This is the project I made last Friday and it is made from recycled materials. https://liagriffith.com/upcycled-paper-bag-succulents/
hello, is there no video of this?
No but we have an updated lily that does. https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-easter-lily/
I always follow your tutorial. It make me more creative for making flower paper. Thankyou.
So glad to hear it! 🙂
Do you use extra fine crepe paper for this flower?
We used heavy crepe for this one (https://liagriffith.com/product/heavy-floristic-crepe-paper-winter-garden-collection/)
