Ready for some new DIY ornaments? Designed by Meagan, this wool and wood deer ornament is easy to make and will look so cute on your Christmas tree. If you don’t have a tree, you can also leave the twine off and use it as a holiday decoration.

Because we’re using chipboard for this project, we recommend using a cutting machine with a deep-cut blade.

Make an ornament to fawn over

Similar to our deer decorations from last year, this wool and wood deer ornament has a simple Scandinavian look that we love. You can also mix and match the light and dark wood paper between the three different pieces (antlers, body, and legs) to create different combinations of ornaments. Then you’ll add the chipboard to make sure they’re sturdy and glue the wool on to give them an adorable winter coat.

Skill level: Beginner

Crafting tips: Be sure to allow glue to fully dry before assembling the deer. If you want, you could also craft this as a standing tabletop decoration instead of an ornament — just leave the twine off.
