I love the simple look of the paper philodendron in a classic terra cotta pot, but the pot can also be easily personalized with some craft paint or spray paint!
Once you have finished your pretty paper plant, place your foam ball into your pot and use your preserved moss to cover the ball. The final step in making the paper philodendron is placing the floral wire pieces into the foam. Then, arrange the leaves randomly for a realistic look!
Don't stop at one! We have a full paper plant master class where Meagan will teach you all of the tips and tricks to creating paper plants from both cardstock and crepe paper.
Or, check out the other DIY plants in this series – including our paper fern, snake plant, and additional house plants – to create an entire collection of low-maintenance botanical decor that's perfect for gifts or home styling.

Leave a CommentI’m confused. Why do you need to cover the stems with floral tape or crepe if the stem wire and floral wire are already covered with green paper?
You don’t. But we really like the look of the crepe paper finish (not the floral tape as much), so it is just a matter of personal taste. Three options! 🙂
Can you send a pdf formt tutorial?
Hi Kathy. We are looking to update and add a photo tutorial. In the meantime, I added a photo tutorial for a similar project.
Can’t open download
Just double-click to unzip.
Hi Emily, The song that I love is the one with the cardstock philodrenrom.. Do you know what it is?
This is Lia here. I can ask the video team, but I think it is stock music. I will find out.
The audio for the two crafts today is very quiet. Even with my volume all the way up I can’t follow this one. I just checked yesterday’s and it’s fine.
Hi Kate! We noticed that as well and have worked to adjust it. Check back in a bit as the new version is currently uploading.
It looks like the louder version is up now! 🙂
