We got a request to make a felt zebra stuffie back in September after we shared our felt elephants. (Karen, if you're still following—we finally made them!) We love when our members ask us to make something. So if you have any requests, let us know! We will add them to our ongoing list of DIY craft ideas.

How to Make a Felt Zebra Stuffie
Gather your craft tools and materials. Then download our pattern below.
Cut out your felt pieces according to the pattern, using scissors or a Cricut Maker. Note: Color of felt is designated by either a “W” for white or “B” for black.
Sew the felt stripes to both sides of the body using three strands of black embroidery floss and a backstitch down the middle of each stripe. Trim off any excess felt that extends over the edge of the body pieces.
Whip stitch the black muzzle to the head with three strands of black floss. Cut off the excess white felt underneath to reduce bulk.

Hi I was. using the svg cut files for the zebra and I didn’t see the cutouts for the bottom of the feet. Did I miss them on the pattern? I noticed they were on the pdf file, as well as the photo tutorial. Were they there and I missed them?
Hi Michelle, we are noting the Cricut has been deleting small pieces after their updated software. The pieces are all in the SVG, so I suggest you restart Design Space and test it again. Hopefully, they have resolved this issue.
Hi, I made this zebra today. While I enjoyed the diy and was satisfied with the results, I have to say I had some difficulty cutting and sewing the (many) little thin black stripes. They kept unraveling, and in the end they kind of lost shape (they definitely don’t look sharp as yours), and the black shred into the white and vice-versa. Is there some technique/tip I’m missing here? I used quality wool felt…
Also, it wasn`t clear to me where to sew the ears, since there was no marking in the pattern for their exact position, so my zebra’s face ended up looking different then yours…
Thank you for your feedback! Quality of felt does matter for cutting fine details, but even then each sheet is different thickness, stiffness. Sometimes what Krista has done for the small pieces is spray a bit of felt with some fabric stiffening spray, then cut the pieces out after drying and you can sew through it and it will help hold the felt together. She doesn’t usually mark where the ears go because it always depends on how firmly you stuff the animal, or it is sewed together slightly different, position could look better one way vs another so we usually say to use your best judgement. Even when Krista makes two of the same animal they always look slightly different. I hope that’s helpful 🙂

Yes, you can resize either larger or smaller.

Yay so glad to hear it! The best option is to print the PDF pattern at a larger percentage on your printer.
