Felt Moose
Say hello to Spruce, the moose! Designed by Krista, this felt moose stuffie would make a cute and playful addition to a winter woodland themed scene for the holidays. You could even craft him a little scarf!
This is a great intermediate felt craft. If you have made any of our other standing animal stuffies before, then this project is perfect for you. New to hand-sewing and stitching or need a little more practice first? Check out our beginner felt projects and embroidery guide.

To craft our felt moose, we used our dark chocolate brown felt in Bark Brown for the body and Hazelnut for the antlers. You will see in our photo tutorial how we used wire inside the felt antlers to shape them. If you want, you could easily make a female moose too — simply omit the antlers!
For your woodland Christmas scene, you can add some mini felt trees and a few other woodland animals, including our felt winter bear, wolf, and rabbit. Or, you can always decorate your tree with these cute little stuffies, too! Whatever you do, be sure to share it with us by tagging #MadeWithLia on Instagram, posting to our private Facebook group for members, or by emailing photos to us.

How to Make a Felt Moose Stuffie
- Gather the craft tools and materials you need from our list on the right hand side at the top of this post.
- Cut out felt according to pattern using a Cricut Maker/Silhouette Cameo 4 or scissors.
- Sew the legs to the underside piece using two strands of the dark brown embroidery floss and a whip stitch, working from what will be the inside of the legs. Match and follow the curve of the leg openings, and ensure that the legs are facing the right way.
- Repeat this step for all of the legs.

Hi, the forehead doesn’t seem to go from the beard to where indicated on the template.
I double checked and the felt piece is as long as the template says.
Can you help?
Thank you
Looking at the PDF template, you can see the dots on the pattern. Are you aligning the right color of the dot to the correct spot?
Hello. I am unable to upload the moose walkthrough images. No button, no link to click… Is there a problem on this page? I have the same concern for the otter, the dragon, the cat, the dog. I don’t know how to do to upload theses pictures.
Thanks for your help,
Cordially,
Maryse, from France
There is a button at the end of the post that says “photo tutorial” along with the template downloads. You will need to click that to access the photo tutorials.
I really want to make the felt mini Christmas trees that are pictures in the background of this adorable moose craft but there appears to be an issue with the link. 😥
Hi Grace! We pulled this project to be in our November collection, which launches on Monday. I will go ahead and make the post available now for you — just keep in mind they will not be available tomorrow, on the 31st, for a brief period of time.
