Crepe Paper Beautyberry Branch—Video Workshop
Crepe Paper Beautyberry Branch—Video Workshop
Beauty & the Branch
Flowers may steal the spotlight, but a beautiful arrangement often comes down to what happens between the blooms. Our Crepe Paper Beautyberry Branch brings color, texture, and movement to the mix with vivid berries and leafy stems that weave effortlessly through every season. For this Crafternoon, we’ll craft the branch together before putting it to work in the finished arrangements from our Master Class series.

Join us for this live workshop on Friday, August 28 at noon PT. You can tune in on this page.
During our live workshop, we’ll shape the foliage, create those distinctive berry clusters from our 6mm spun balls, and assemble everything into a natural branching form. Because this intermediate project benefits from some familiarity with crepe paper techniques, a little experience will help you along the way. However, if you're still building those skills, our Crepe Paper Flower Foundations Series is a wonderful place to practice the fundamentals you'll use here and throughout our botanical projects.
Beautyberry is known for remarkable clusters of purple berries that gather tightly around its stems. In fact, native species grow throughout parts of North America, where their berries typically emerge in late summer and fall and may linger after the leaves drop. Additionally, as the seasons change, those colorful berries may linger even after the leaves drop, giving us plenty of inspiration for styling our paper version year-round.
When they're assembled, beautyberry can fill open spaces, create movement, and lead the eye between focal flowers without competing for attention. During our Master Class, you'll see how these branches add wonderful texture and dimension to your final arrangements. Of course, a few stems can also make a striking display all on their own.
Originally, we created our beautyberry for winter arrangements, and those jewel-toned berries still look gorgeous among seasonal greenery. However, there's no need to pack them away when winter ends. Instead, pair them with soft spring flowers, vibrant summer blooms, or warm autumn foliage to give the branches new life throughout the year.
When finished, share your Crepe Paper Beautyberry Branch with us using #MadeWithLia and in our crafters' community. We can't wait to craft with you!

Leave a CommentA happy coincidence? An hour after I viewed the August selection here, the PBS program Flip My Florida Yard featured Beautyberry shrubs thriving on properties of homeowners whose gardens have earned the designation Wildlife Refuge. More than 40 species of songbirds eat their berries, and butterflies are attracted to the flowers for nectar. Lia might be prescient.
Haha! I love that, Linda. I had also been researching whether I could grow them here in Oregon.
Sorry, Lia. Found the answer to my question in the post for the Paper Flower Garden Video Workshop.
Yay!
Love this! Are we adding it into the final arrangement from our current Paper Flower Garden Master Class?
Yes, this is to balance the lilac clematis. 🙂
Hi
Just tried tried the pine cone link and it goes to the fir branch😊
Just an FYI🤗
Oh! And this it the Beautyberry post. 🙂 Can you make a comment on the post where the link is incorrect?
The Pinecone link is incorrect in the Beauty and the Branch introduction paragraph in this Beautyberry page
Thanks! Fixed. 🙂
Hi y’all,
I just wanted to let you know that the Beautyberry photo tutorial is titled “Wool Felt Ball Bumble Bees.” I’ve been having a great time with it, but I wanted to give you a heads up in case it should be changed. 🙂 Thank you for all of your hard work, I love this month’s collection!
Oh lordy! Thanks for letting us know. 🙂
