This too-cute Felt Farm Chicken is a beginner to intermediate-level project that’s sure to brighten up your toy barnyard or felt garden. Unlike some of our other stuffed animal projects, this chicken’s construction combines embroidery with a touch of adhesive magic. Once you’ve gathered your tools and materials, meet us down in the tutorial!

Chickens don’t always get the love they deserve, but with spring on the way, it’s the perfect time to let them be the star of the show. Primarily known for their quirky personalities, clucking conversations, and their legendary contribution to breakfast, chickens also come in a wide variety of breeds and colors. We’ve gone with classic brown hues for our felt farm chicken, but there’s no shortage of color combinations for these sweet birdies, so feel free to craft the chicken that’s in your heart!

What we love about this project are the simple but effective little details that will bring your Felt Farm Chicken to life. We used 6mm black safety eyes to give our chicken that extra touch of personality. To stuff your creation, grab a pair of old chopsticks or a stuffing tool and go to town! Lastly, we added weighted poly-pellets to the bottom of this stuffie to keep your feathered friend sitting pretty.

We can’t wait to see all the super-cute Felt Farm Chickens you create, so be sure to show us your amazing work. Sharing your creations with our crafters’ community or tagging us on Instagram with #MadeWithLia is a fantastic way for us to celebrate the beauty of spring together.

Stitches used: Blanket, whip, and double-running stitch.
