These Crepe Paper Cosmos are an advanced-level project that'll get your creative wheels turning and elevate your crafting abilities. While our Member Make offers an exciting challenge, don’t worry — we’re in this together! The live event will be held on April 11th at noon PT, allowing us to work side-by-side in real time. These workshops are more than just a video tutorial; they’re a chance to connect, ask questions, and share the joy of creating something beautiful with fellow members. But if you happen to miss the event, no worries — the video will be waiting for you right here whenever you're ready.
The Cosmos flower holds a special place in both nature and culture. Native to the Americas, these pretty blooms symbolize peace, harmony, and love. Their vibrant colors and intricate petals remind us that beauty can be found in simplicity. In many cultures, the Cosmos is also a symbol of connection and community—making it the perfect flower for this month’s Member Make. It’s a wonderful flower to craft this spring as we embrace growth, connection, and the beauty of nature.
Our Member Make workshop will guide you through essential paper crafting techniques to make your Cosmos flowers stand out. For example, you’ll learn how to master the art of shaping petals, using crepe paper to its full potential, and adding delicate details that will bring each flower to life. The advanced techniques in this project are designed not only to challenge you but to elevate your skills as well. Additionally, I’ll share tips and tricks for adding subtle details to make your Crepe Paper Cosmos look freshly picked from the garden.
As always, we love seeing your finished projects when they're all done, so be sure to post them on Instagram with the hashtag #MemberMake. Also, don’t forget to join the conversation in our crafters’ community — swap ideas, tips, and inspiration with other members who share your passion for crafting!

Do you anticipate getting more scallop pinking shears for sale in your shop?
Yes, they are on order!
Thank you. These are beautiful and I always look forward to Monthly Make. Cannot wait to make the foxgloves!!
We are so happy that you joined us! See you next month. (And hopefully for the mushroom class).
I joined and so appreciate & enjoyed your live member make today even though I wasn’t able to work while I watched (something that I think prevented me from joining more often), and it was so great to just sit and quietly watch your work, listen and learn! I felt calmer, grateful and inspired (as well as a bit lighter generally) by being able to join and just want to thank you!
Also you should absolutely host a designation or French workshop/retreat! I recently read an article about triadic engagement and how taking part in an activity of mutual interest with groups of people really enhances engagement, learning, and I think how much people may enjoy the process and feel like they’re part of a community (article: “I tested some of the most popular ways of meeting new people. Here is what I found”, Molly Gorman, BBC)! What a wonderful way to travel and also have the opportunity to be around others and engage tradic-ally (?), perhaps a group travel organization company could make it less labor intensive for you guys and what a neat way to support a business you have found great value in (a podcast I love “Tooth and Claw” has been doing destination group trips to different countries that are managed by, I believe, a 3rd party to view wildlife and think destination paper flower making in the wine regions of France or anywhere would be a great way to plan to travel and enjoy your work and the community you’ve built)!
This is so beautiful. I had to share it with my whole team. There is something very calming about just watching others create.
And for the retreat in France. . . that one has me thinking. I love the insights you shared and feel this idea is very doable!
Why did the live video show only 3 petals used for the bud but on the above picture looks like there is more than 3?
There are 6 total. 3 of each size.
How do I get to the live make?
I hope you found it. We post it on the main page and on the flower post.
I’m excited for the member make but I don’t have blush heavy crepe. I have cream and other darker pink colors like plum, raspberry and pink hibiscus. What color marker would you suggest if I went with cream petals? Thank you!
Those will be gorgeous colors for these flowers. Just pick some markers that are a bit darker than the crepe. You can test a few swatches to see if you like.
Don’t have the brown crepe paper, so will use aubergine. Do you think that’s a reasonable substitute for now??
That is a great option! The brown just peeks through.
The pattern does not include where to use the heavy crepe paper and the extra fine crepe paper. I cut the petals out of the heavy crepe paper.
Yes, that is correct! This project uses the heavy for blush (petals) and nectarine (centers). The others are all extra-fine.
hello, I love this flower! A flower you guys could make is a Teddybear sunflower!
Yes!! Love that flower. On the list now.
I have trouble working with the heavier papers, so I’m eager to give this one a try.
Yes! Come to the workshop this Friday, too, where I am making a beginner tulip. I think you will like the petals.
I cannot wait to make these! I love the updates you have made!
I do too! And I love that they are made from heavy crepe paper. 🙂
the seedlings grow 🙂
Yes, they do!
I downloaded this one but don’t see a tutorial for it. Can you please share the tutorial with me?
We release the tutorials after the live workshop, which will be on the 11th.
