Have you picked out your green outfit for March 17th yet? There are so many ways to incorporate green into your outfit for St. Patrick’s Day, and I love getting creative to make unique accessories for the occasion! Here is an adorable DIY top hat that is perfect to pair with any attire. And you can’t beat the fact that it’s so easy to take on and off!
Irish you a happy St. Patrick’s Day!
To make this project, you will need green, gold, and black card stock and a headband to attach under the top hat. For the base of our top hat, we used a 12×12-inch card stock. Use the SVG file linked below for your cutting machine, or print the PDF if you are cutting by hand. Use the template to cut out your black band, gold buckle, and choose a different shade of green for the shamrock. Follow the step-by-step tutorial below to assemble your top hat. Use hot-glue to attach all the bits and pieces, and then use the glue to attach your headband. So easy!
- Cricut Maker or Silhouette Cameo 4 (recommended)
- Kai 8″ Scissors (if cutting by hand)
- Low-Temp Hot Glue Gun
- Lia Griffith Cardstock – Grey Pack, Green Pack and Glitter Gold
- Head band
This top hat is an adorable way to mix some green into your outfit, but if you were looking for even more St. Patrick’s Day-themed clothing, check out our Irish shirts with a festive shamrock design! Use the iron-on design to apply to a shirt, sweatshirt, or canvas tote. Or, make iron-on St. Patty’s Day treat bags for an extra holiday good luck charm. And stay tuned for the template for that adorable red paper beard to pair with your green top hat!
