Our paper canal houses were so popular last year that we decided to come up with some new designs this year! Along with the pattern for these papercut European houses, we’ve included the pattern for these little paper trees. Both patterns are in one downloadable template below and zipped together in an SVG file.

Since this project includes some intricate details and a lot of little cutouts, we recommend using a cutting machine with our SVG file. However if you want to cut by hand, we’ve included a PDF template for you as well.

Create a Christmas Scene

These papercut European houses are perfect for your winter village scene or Christmas display. Using white cardstock also gives them that pristine snow-covered look. Depending on how many houses you want to make, you can keep your Christmas scene small — or have it scale across your mantel with a fresh or faux garland.

Once you’ve assembled your papercut European houses, you can add LED tea light candles to give your Christmas scene a warm and cozy glow. For the trees, just slide them together and place them around your houses. Then add little felted wool snowballs to complete the look! For more holiday styling ideas, check out our video tutorial.

When you’re done with your holiday display, share it with us by tagging #MadeWithLia on Instagram or Facebook. And if you have any questions about using SVG files or how to score your paper, make sure to read this blog post. Happy crafting!
