Fall in love with this DIY
One of the things we love about this DIY project is that it’s a simple and affordable way to bring some original artwork into your home. It’s also very easy to make. All you need to do is cut the pattern on cardstock and then place your papercut fall owl artwork in a frame.
You might notice that there are two shades of cardstock colors. We alternated between a natural white colored cardstock and a linen textured cardstock. We also used foam mounting squares between each layer to give it a 3D look.
When it comes to styling, this artwork looks great on its own—especially on a mantel. Or you can hang it up on the wall with the other designs that are part of this Four Seasons set. We recently released our winter deer, spring bird, and summer fox artwork.
Of course we always love the idea of adding a paper plant or flower nearby. In the picture above, we paired our papercut fall owl artwork with our paper ivy topiary. And then down below we have all four designs styled with our crepe paper magnolias.
Because this pattern is so intricate, we recommend using a cutting machine. But if you do want to cut it by hand, we’ve included a PDF template for you below. You can also resize this artwork to fit a different size frame, if you prefer.
Enjoy! ~ Lia and team

Love this!!! Made it for my Granddaughter for a Christmas gift! I know she will love it!
What a great gift!!
Hi – I have made the fall owl for both my Mother and my Daughter-in-law’s Mother for Christmas. They were both thrilled as was I 😻
I was wondering where you got the lovely white bird on wooden rocker please.
Thanking you in advance – Catherine
So glad to hear it, Catherine! The rocking bird was purchased at West Elm a long time ago 🙂
Love these! Could you please share the background color?
Thanks Debbie
Thanks Debbie! We actually covered the back piece with gray linen fabric.
These are all absolutely beautiful and i’m looking forward to making them.
Would you be willing to share the colors (and possibly the source to purchase) for each of the lovely layers? The color variations really seem to make each layer pop.
Many thanks!!
Linda
Thank you Linda! I just updated the post to include the papers we used.
