Crepe Dark Chocolate Cosmos Video Workshop
Cocoa Cosmos
Contrary to popular belief, not every flower both looks and smells good. However, that’s not the case with Chocolate Cosmos, known for its deep, velvety color and its subtle cocoa-like fragrance. Our Crepe Paper Dark Chocolate Cosmos video workshop captures this flower’s rare, exotic elegance in crepe paper for a project that’s both dramatic and playful.

Flowers and chocolate? Yes, please! These Crepe Paper Dark Chocolate Cosmos are a great beginner-friendly craft to add to your paper flower to-do list. When precision and consistency are factors in building out your bloom, we encourage you to use a cutting machine to save time and frustration. However, crafting is very much a “go your own way” activity, so use the tools you have or what feels the most comfortable to you.
When you’re ready to create your Crepe Paper Dark Chocolate Cosmos, our video workshop is here to assist! For example, we’ll move through each stage at a comfortable pace, building your flower step by step. Further, we’ll help you master simple techniques like shaping, creating balance, and using markers to add dimension to your petals. You won’t want to miss it!
Native to Mexico, chocolate cosmos are a cultivated species that no longer exists in the wild. Due to their rarity, they’ve come to symbolize warmth, uniqueness, and a sort of understated luxury. Moreover, it's the sort of flower that doesn’t need bright colors to stand out. However, the color palette still does much of the storytelling here. Deep aubergine and raspberry tones pair with fresh green leaves to create a rich, dramatic contrast.
So, once you're ready, display your Crepe Paper Dark Chocolate Cosmos in a small vase, mix them with lighter blooms for contrast, or let a single stem stand alone for a more minimal look. And when the entire look is complete, share them with us in the crafters’ community and on social using #MadeWithLia.

Back to the TopThis says you are using green tea & cypress double sided for the leaves but it looks like ferns & moss in the pictures as the color difference is so subtle and there are no mirrored leaves in the pattern. Can you confirm?
You are right! This is a Ferns & Moss. I think the Green Tea & Cypress would look great too but I would keep the same color on one side. 🙂
I enjoy paper flowers using frosted, metallic, shimmer paper, probably all the same. I’d rather not paint. I’m not very artistic but I can make flowers. I’m wondering if the paper used makes a difference or is the template made for any paper?
Hi! You are certainly welcome to customize your project and leave out the painting if you prefer. Our patterns and templates are designed specifically with the paper in mind, and most will not translate well to different types of paper.
These are so pretty ! Maybe it’s because the colors are my favorite and I always loved gold !
So glad to hear it Debra 🙂
