Crepe Paper Pink Carnations
This flower is always a popular request! We made it for the first time a few years ago using bright pinks and bold reds. So this time around, Meagan chose a softer shade for these crepe paper pink carnations. We are also making it a little differently, including using PanPastel to color the petals.

Christmas Carnations
These crepe paper pink carnations will look beautiful in your home year-round, but we think they would be especially pretty to put out for the holiday season. Place a few flowers on their own in a vase, add them to a bouquet, or create a Christmas-inspired arrangement with some crepe paper pine needles.
Skill level: Intermediate (using the white glue to attach the petal strips is a bit difficult with this flower)
Crafting tips: Be patient white adding the petal strips, and allow the glue to dry before adding the next petal set if it gets too mushy.

Hi there! I’ve been trying to make some carnations but I don’t really get how to glue the petals, I don’t really understand the pinching petals process and how you continue gluing them from there. Thx!
Hello Irene, Here is another version of the carnations where we did it in a workshop. Maybe this will give you some visuals to assist. https://liagriffith.com/january-member-make-crepe-paper-carnations/
Hi.
I love these carnations! However- when I made them they are really small- finished they are only about 1-1.5″ across the bloom.
The photo looks much bigger- the SVG says 7X12 which is the size the upload is-
but then the petals are only about 2.25″ across. Is this the size in your photos?
Thanks.
The petal size is correct, however our end flowers are between 1.5 to 2 inches when finished. There are some factors that could influence the final size of your flower. You may be gluing more of the petal to your stem than we did making the petals not extend as far out. In the final step of the tutorial we instruct you to use tweezers to separate all of the petals to fluff up the flower. While doing this you can pull the petals out a bit which will make your flower larger. I hope these tips help! In the end if you would just prefer a larger flower overall you can enlarge the template before printing or in design space before cutting.
Hi team! When I try to click on the photo tutorial link it tells me the PDF file is too large to preview – not sure if it’s something wrong with my browser but many of the other photo tutorials seem to load fine, could someone please double check the link? Many thanks! 🙂
I downsized that PDF a bit. See if you can download it now. I did not have any trouble with the original, so I can not test it for you.
In the first photo, what are the leaves that are in the front of the arrangement?
They are from this flower: https://liagriffith.com/member-make-crepe-paper-dahlia-flower/
