Giant Paper Bouquets for Cricut -- Pacific Islands
The first in our jumbo paper flower series for Cricut -- our Pacific Islands floral bouquet by designer Meagan. Meagan recently took a trip to Hawaii and gained much artistic inspiration while there. As a result, she channeled her new ideas into this gorgeous bouquet of a vibrant, exotic variety – tropical paper ginger flowers, crepe paper birds of paradise, crepe paper helicona, crepe paper pincushions, and tropical greenery. The bouquet features an assortment of materials... felt, fabric, leather, crepe paper and frosted paper, all cut using Cricut's new and improved Cricut Maker crafting cutter. We're simply in love with this new machine!
This is just the first of eight giant bouquets! For a sneak peek of all of the bouquets, and further details on the Cricut Maker, click here.

“Pinterest is great, but your site is better. I am not particularly talented, just very enthusiastic, but the membership makes it so you don't HAVE to be experienced to make lovely things.”Kate
Hi ! I have a question, how do you make the stem longer to being able to put on a flower arrangement like the one you show with the tropical flowers? After following the instructions I barely have 8 1/2 to 9 inches of stem. I feel that’s not going to be enough when I’m putting them into the flower arrangement.
I have the circut that they originally came out with but have not done crafts in some time. How much better is the newer circut for making flowers? I am the Administer of an Assisted Living and we have “Family Night” once a month. I decorate extensively and would like to start making flowers for different events. Of course there will have to be a very large amount made so cutting down on the cutting time will be crucial.
Hi Judy! The Cricut Maker is lovely, and cuts our crepe paper so nicely. We still cut a lot of crepe projects by hand, but the Maker comes in handy when we need to make more than a handful. If you’re just looking to make frosted paper flowers, the Explore Air 2 is a great option!
Yes, every one of those flower posts has a PDF template for hand cutting– we know not everyone has (or wants to have!) a cutting machine. We use both extra find and heavy crepe paper in our flowers (each flower post will tell you what was used).
These are just gorgeous! They look so real! Love the colors you picked as well. What a great way to show what can a cricut machine do. Your work is truly an inspiration to all creative souls!
I love this!! I’m thinking of doing this for my wedding 🙂 Two questions.. 1. do you think wooden dowels will work instead of metal tubing? And 2. What size vase are you holding in the above picture? It all looks SO good!
How fun! Wooden dowels would work just fine if you’re OK not being able to bend and move the flower around. The vases were 24″ tall. Please send us photos when you’re done, we’d love to see! hello@liagriffith.com

Leave a CommentWhat is the cheapest cutting machine that will cut crepe paper. I already have a Scan N Cut 2 but want to make this bouquet and mre.
Does your machine have a rotary blade? You will need that for cutting crepe. We just found that Cricut is selling their Makers for $250. This is the one we use in the studio.

PACIFIC ISLANDS FLORAL BOUQUET Please May I have a link to finding the files for this project. I am a member but can’t find the files. Thank you!
Hi Hazel! There are links in the post that direct you to the various flower templates included in this bouquet.
Beautiful work, I also love making arrangements faux and real, but also using paper! You made a very lovely arrangement, love your colors !!!
Thank you so much Denise!

Hi Stephanie, for this project we connected multiple wires together using floral tape!

Don’t want to spend $400.. Is there a pattern so I can cut them out. Also, what weight crepe paper do you use

Thanks so much for these gorgeous tropical designs! I’ve been keeping my eye out and hoping to see a post featuring these flowers. Wish granted 🙂
You’re so welcome! We love how this bouquet turned out– so glad you do, too 🙂
What leaves were used in this bouquet? Are there files/templates for the leaves/greens?
Those are coming in a post on Saturday! 🙂
HI, IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF DOING THESE FILES FOR THE SCAN N CUT MACHINE. I JUST LOVE THESE FLOWERS AND WOULD TO MAKE THEM. THANKS
We have SVG cut files for the non-crepe flowers (ginger) but the scan n cut will not cut crepe paper.
HI, THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW, WILL JUST HAVE TO DO MY HAND.

We are SO happy you are here!!
Your displays at Cricut event were amazing…I can’t wait to try some of these.
Thank you:-)
Hi Lia. Will you be having SVG files for these to enable use with the new Cricut Maker?
Yes! We will be adding those to ALL of our crepe paper flower posts. 😉
So does the new Cricut Maker machine cut crepe paper well…duplex or fine?
It does! All of the crepe. Since it has a rotary blade it will cut so many new materials.
Simply Gorgeous love them ??????
Thank you:-)
