Unlike many classic varieties, the Lady of the Lake Rose carries a story long before it ever reaches the garden. For instance, the name itself dates back to the Arthurian legend, where a mysterious Lady of the Lake presents King Arthur with the sword Excalibur.

While unknown, the figure embodies wisdom, beauty, and quiet strength. Qualities also reflected in the gorgeous rose that bears her name. What's more, its delicate blush color and climbing habit give it an ethereal quality, making it a favorite in English-style gardens and cottage landscapes. Additionally, this variety has an effortless grace and movement that makes it a joy to recreate in crepe paper.

Petal by petal, we'll work to reveal the soft curves and layered elegance that make this bloom so unforgettable. Throughout the workshop, we'll shape, assemble, and refine each detail using extra-fine crepe paper, floral wire, and simple shaping tools. Although this is one of our more advanced projects, you won't be crafting alone. We'll be there to guide you every step of the way, alongside a community that's always ready to cheer you on.

Whether this is your first Member Make or one of many, we're so glad you'll be crafting alongside us this month. Don’t forget to share your finished Lady of the Lake Rose with our community using #MemberMake.
