This project is part of our gorgeous collection of crepe paper blooms and an absolute delight for anyone who loves crafting with this material. If you've already tried our Crepe Paper Two-Tone Poinsettia or other floral projects, then you know how rewarding it is to transform simple materials into something remarkable. Well, this Crepe Paper English Rose is no exception! Whether you stick to the soft pastels we've chosen or select hues that match your style, the result is the same: perfection.
Though we've featured many varieties of roses over the years here at Lia Griffith, this is our first attempt at the English Rose. Known for its timeless charm and beauty, the English Rose has been celebrated in gardens, art, and poetry for centuries. So for this project, we wanted to capture that same romantic essence, offering a modern twist on a classic bloom.
Additionally, what makes this project truly stand out is its ease and versatility. The techniques you’ll learn in our video workshop — like shaping petals and creating seamless stems with floral tape — are simple yet so impactful. Further, the heavy crepe paper adds a lifelike texture, making these roses a true showstopper.
Once the last petal is in place, these Crepe Paper English Roses will make for a truly breathtaking display. These would look gorgeous arranged in a vase for a cheerful pop of color or as the centerpiece for a special event. However you choose to style them, we can't wait to see it. So upload your pictures into our crafters community or on Instagram with the hashtag #MadeWithLia.

As with all your flowers, this one is amazing! If making it in a peach crepe paper would you still use the same colour of pan pastel, if not, could you suggest an appropriate colour?
You and your lovely team once again make something that looks really complicated in to something beautiful in both looks and simplicity,
Thank you for all your hard work
I am so happy to hear that you like this one, Helen. Yes! This would be gorgeous in so many colors. I would use the yellow PanPastel with the peach, but you could also go in the other direction with a bit of bright pink. But I do think I would like the yellow best. 🙂
Thanks for that, I’ve made a pink one and a peach without the pastels just to practice and my next one will have the PanPastel. I love the way they both turned out slightly different but still absolutely gorgeous. Will also have a go at making some smaller ones with less petals. 🙏
Yes! Variety is always good. 🙂
I really love the changes to your website! Easier to get around and the craft circle is so awesome. Thank you
Yay!! You are all a special group! More fun perks are coming your way. 🙂
Can you tell me what are the other two flowers ?
We did this as a craft summit last year along with the garden rose and the wild rose.
I figured it out!! I was able to download it. I didn’t see that the first time.
Oh good!
I saved this to Pinterest because that’s the only place it would let me save it. Now I cannot get to the template? Is there another way to get the template? Thank you
There is a download button in the right column under the video. You can once you click that, it will add it to your downloads folder on your computer.
Hi Lia, just so you know, the instructions say to cut 16 medium petals for the large flowers, which is what you did in the video. I used my Cricut, however, and the SVG only includes 8 medium petals per flower. I was very confused here for a bit when I suddenly ran out of petals! (And I used up all my heavy blush so I can’t make more! Sad!)
Oh no! That is so strange, as I looked at the file and think that there was a “lost in translation” setting up the SVG. I promise that your rose will still look gorgeous. And, you can also make more from other colors of crepe. This would be so pretty is the creams and white crepe too.
So simple but so beautiful!
Agree. A great beginner flower with stunning results. (Though I know you are not a beginner).
Meghan is a beast when it comes to fringing!😂👍
Right!! Young, nimble fingers. lol
Excited for a beginner again!
Yay! This is one of my favorites.
Gorgeous!! I can’t wait!!! 😍
Share photos when you are done, Nancy!
Definitely will!
So beautiful..
Can’t wait to start making them..
Thanks Lia ,Megan and team
Happy New Year to all of you..
Enjoy! This one is simple to make and soooo lovely. 🙂
