Spring is coming soon and no better way to prepare than add a some blooms into your home decor. The wonderful thing about these cherry blossom branches is that it will last more than a few days and can be used as a centerpiece for your spring dining table, wedding event or baby shower. So many ideas and events this can be used for. These little crepe paper blossoms are so easy to make with just three colors of crepe paper. All you need along with these papers is a pair of scissors and a hot glue gun. You can find a branch in nature or at your local flower shop. Simply use a piece of florist foam in a small pot to stand the branch and cover the foam with green moss. Now your branch is ready to bloom. Follow my step-by-step tutorial below to make the cherry blossoms and you will find the printable pattern at the end of the post. Just download and print. Enjoy! ~ Lia

good morning
is there an SVG for the cherry blossom pattern please?
Good morning! This is one of our first paper flowers so we did not provide SVGs at that time. I would need to go back and recreate the template. But in the meantime, here is one of our favorite blooming branches. https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-quince-branch/
And here is another option: https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-blooming-branch/
Hello from Brazil! I´d like to get the SVG file of these cherry blossom s. Is it available anywhere?
Hi! We don’t have an SVG for this older project, but we do for these newer ones! https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-blooming-branch/, https://liagriffith.com/paper-plum-blossom-wreath/, https://liagriffith.com/paper-orange-blossom/
Any chance of getting an SVG file for the Cherry Blossoms to use with the Cricut Maker? Ever since having a Cricut (for several years now), I’ve gotten lazy about hand cutting anything LOL I also love how easily the Maker cuts crepe paper.
Oh we understand! This post is a bit older but we do have SVG files for this newer blooming branch: https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-blooming-branch/
Oh Lia – I know this a completely dumb question, but what are the crepe paper colors? I don’t see them anywhere! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful creations!
Not a dumb question! This is a much older project and I used crepe paper from my personal stash (so not totally sure what the color names are). But I would remake this today with colors from the Extra Fine Secret Garden pack! https://shop.liagriffith.com/collections/extra-fine/products/10-pack-extra-fine-crepe-paper-secret-garden
I love these and will use them at my niece’s wedding in May, but I would like to know, how did you secure the branch in the pot?
Thanks for the beautiful idea!
Rocks would work for holding it down, and then you could cover it with moss. Gluing it to foam is also a good option! It all just depends on what will work best with getting it into your specific pot. Good luck!
My daughter just recently got engaged. Her fiancé proposed in Brooklyn Botanical Gardens under the cherry trees, which were in full bloom. I’d love to make her a “lasting” memory of that moment & may try to make some of these cherry blossoms & attach the branch to a picture frame with a picture of the moment he proposed. Have you ever made these cherry blossoms out of tissue paper instead of crepe paper? I saw your tutorial on Michael’s for tissue peonies – they were beautiful. I also bought a Cricut from Michaels that was supposed to come with some templates of your work but have yet to get my Cricut Air to calibrate (working on browsers & programs with Cricut tech. support – they are working hard). Anyway, I look forward to gleaning some of your expertise to learn how to make many beautiful projects for my daughters wedding. Thanks for sharing your talents!
Hi Sue! Yes, these blooms look amazing in tissue paper. I did a simple version of that a few years ago and they were also lovely.
I am happy to hear that Cricut is helping you work out the bugs. They are good people. Share photos of your projects when you are done. Here is a link to the tissue version: https://liagriffith.com/diy-paper-flower-blooming-branches/
Thank you for the link! Any chance you will come up with a .svg version of this so I can use it right on my Cricut & not have to do it all by hand? Your work is amazing! I am having so much fun clicking through all your great wedding ideas on your blog! I will definitely share photos of any projects my daughter lets me contribute to the wedding! 😉 Thanks again!
Unfortunately you can not cut crepe paper on a Cricut or any other personal cutting machine.
Can’t wait to see your photos!

Hi! This is a totally adorable idea! But I’m having slight difficulty on making the blossoms and leaves more round.

Just need a little practice, and make sure you don’t stretch out the edges too much.
