Become a MemberExciting news! Portland Bride and Groom recently featured one of our bridal bouquets! In every issue, Portland Bride and Groom includes a spread called True Colors, where they highlight wedding trends and show brides how to incorporate these trends into their big event. In the past they have had themes like Neutrals, Pretty in Pinks, and Purple Reign. Local wedding professionals contribute designs and ideas for invitations, accessories, and wedding decor to each spread. This issue, their theme was Color Me Rad, which included neons, brights, and vibrant hues. Our resident wedding designer Lindsay designed a super fun papercut invitation suite for the spread (check out her personal design business Paper Bloom for gorgeous custom wedding invitations), and of course we designed a neon wedding bouquet of paper flowers!
Our neon wedding bouquet includes ranunculus, peonies, and billy balls with pretty greens. Neon wedding bouquets are certainly unconventional, but they most definitely have the wow factor that so many brides want to achieve. We made this bouquet with 180 gram crepe for a thicker, bolder look that would fit with the Color Me Rad theme. Or, using our extra fine crepe paper line would soften up these blooms if you would like to go for a more delicate look. If you love the design of this bouquet, but you are planning a more understated color scheme for your wedding, you can easily make this bouquet in hues that complement your specific event decor. In other words, play around with it to make it yours!
You will need crepe paper, 18 gauge floral wire, floral tape, and 1/2-inch foam balls to make this neon wedding bouquet. Print the PDF template below as a guide for cutting your crepe. Make sure that you are cutting the crepe vertically with the grain or else you will not be able to stretch the paper properly! Once you have all of your leaves and petals cut, you can head to this post for a photo tutorial to make your ranunculus flowers. For the peonies, follow steps 3-7 of this photo tutorial to create your blooms. To make the billy balls, use the same technique as the centers of the ranunculus, then add the small leaves and wrap the stem with floral tape. Fill out the the bouquet with overflowing leaves in different shades of green and then tie the arrangement together with a pretty color of matching ribbon. Your neon wedding bouquet is ready to show off to all of your guests.
Browse some of our other wedding bouquets to explore your options! Our rustic bouquet includes gorgeous muted jewel tones and our other crepe wedding bouquet is great to pair with a neutral color scheme. If you are wanting a more classic look, take a look at our pretty pink rose bouquet or our beautiful beautiful white calla lilies. Or, mix and match fresh flowers with paper blooms! Hi Lia!
I love this bouquet and I am making it for my daughter’s wedding in November! I am actually making all the decorations/flowers/boutinnere’s and centerpieces…GAH!!!
My question is, I just ordered myself the maker (totally needed for all of this) and wonder how many flowers the SVG makes…is it a template for the whole bouquet or just per flower?
Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated!!! 🙂

So glad you love this, Nancy! And congrats on the Maker purchase 🙂 The SVG file is set up to make 1 of each flower.
Ok great! Thank you! How many of each flower do you suggest for a bouquet roughly the same size as what is pictured?
I’d suggest 14-16 billy balls, 5-6 peonies, and 10-12 ranunculus. Then 5-10 stems of leaves depending how much green you want to add 🙂
Hi! How do I utilize the PDF file for the Cricut? This is so beautiful, can’t wait to try my hand at making it!
Hi! I don’t have much experience using a PDF in Design Space– but we did just upload the SVG files!
Thank you so much! This solves my struggle! LOL!
I’d like to make this stunning bouquet for my grandson’s bride at their upcoming Mexican theme wedding. Her favorite color/s is all shades of purple, and her favorite flower is chrysanthemum. Do you have any advice on how to make adaptations to accommodate her?
How lovely! You could use our mum pattern: https://liagriffith.com/crepe-paper-mum-for-fall/
Hi Lia!
I am such a big fan of this specific bouquet. It is absolutely stunning! I am actually planning on re-creating this for my wedding for me and my bridesmaids. I might even make some boutonnieres for the men. 🙂 My colors are black and vivid colors like these! How do you suggest I tie all my flowers together? Do you have a specific cloth type you like to use?
Anyways, thank you for all you do! It is amazing!!!

Oh how fun! We would LOVE to see photos. As for assembly, I have a few tips & tricks around the 6:40 mark of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HxEXT6DtNYg&t=40s.
LOVE THIS! I’m going to make these for my bridesmaids at my upcoming wedding! I have the Cricut Maker and I was wondering what strength mat do you use for cutting crepe paper? I bought the 180g crepe paper but I can’t seem to get it to stay on the mats. Any help with this would be great! Thank you!
Yay! We use the new fabric-grip mat, definitely need that extra stick 🙂
Hi Lia,
I’ve been having trouble trying to find the 1/2 inch foam balls. Would you mind providing a link to where you bought them? Thanks!
Hi Alison, so sorry for the delay! We used to buy them from Flora Craft but they don’t seem to be available right now. We used felt balls or make our own with balled up paper when we don’t have any in stock. I’ll update you if/when I have another source!
Any plans to publish a swag design for a wedding soon? I have an arch that needs some love and these colors would definitely work.
Hi Suzan! We’ll have more wedding related projects in the coming months, will add a swag to my idea list 🙂
Lia, did you ever post any wedding swag? I looked on your site and see some “things”, but nothing like Susan described…archway decorations…please point me in the right direction! 🙂
No archway decorations– but you can browse our wedding decor here: https://liagriffith.com/craft/wedding/wedding-decor/, and various backdrops here: https://liagriffith.com/search/backdrop

you just made my day!! those billy balls are just what I could use in my bouquets! What crepe is the yellow rose/ billy balls and coral peony? Also I’ve been having some trouble determining quantity of flowers, about how many of each flower are there in this arrangement?
Yay I’m so glad you like this! There are about 15 billy balls and 12 flowers. This is the coral and this is the yellow 🙂
I love the colors in this bouquet! I’m trying to come up with what to use for my wedding and was curious which other papers/colors you used in this. It’s beautiful – thank you!
Hi Beth, congrats on your upcoming wedding! I used Italian crepe paper for this bouquet– some of the color names are Lemon, Goldenrod, Mandarin Orange, Hot Pink, Marionberry, and Coral.
Thank you Lia! Again, these are gorgeous!
You’re so welcome 🙂
