VIDEO: Crepe Paper Ranunculus for Spring
Though we have made many versions of the beautiful crepe paper ranunculus flower, this is my favorite! It is also quite easy to follow along and make for great results.

The crepe paper ranunculus is a beautiful flower that requires some patience as there are a lot of petals in each flower! This particular ranunculus has a total of 92 petals per bloom, and I made 12 blooms altogether. You may want to use your Cricut Maker or Silhouette Cameo 4 for this reason. But you can certainly cut the petals by hand, too.
Ready to get started?
If you purchase the kit for this flower, note that the downloads here are an update for this version. I will also be using a new technique to assemble this flower. You can also find all of the tools and materials with links in the right-hand column.
Cutting the flower petals: You can make 6-12 flowers. The ranunculus kit has three color options, and I recommend at least 3 of each color for your bouquet. In the Spring Summit bouquet workshop, I demonstrated how to make two sizes of bouquets, one with 6 of each flower and the second with 12 of each flower.
Colors for flowers:
Ranunculus – centers in extra-fine Cypress, petals in Honeysuckle, Camellia, and Mango
Ranunculus Leaves:
To add the beautiful leaves to this flower, we also have a full workshop on making those!
More in this Series:
You can also make the other two flower workshops in this series:
And when you are ready to put them into a beautiful bouquet, we have you covered!

Hi! I just purchased the Ranunculus kit to make a gift bouquet and watched the Maker Workshop. The pdf template has three leaves and I watched the greenery video for those types of leaves, but I’m confused about how to add the leaves to/with the flowers. I think I see, from the picture on the kit, how those are each wrapped to the stem, but is there more specific guidance somewhere that I’m missing? Is it in the spring bouquet video? Thanks!
Hello LouAnn! In the post you will see a link that goes to another video showing how I make all of the leaves. The Spring Bouquet video shows where I put everything together. Enjoy!
Every time I attempt to make a Ranunculus, it ends up looking like a rose. Any tips to prevent this? I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Thank you.
My tips for making these would be: 1) Make sure you do not over shape your petals. They should have a slight cup. 2) When gluing them onto the center, align the top to match so it make a smooth, even dome. 3) Place your petals evenly in the rotation with a rhythm to the spacing of the petals.
Let me know if that helps. 🙂
So, I bought the ranunculus kit online, abs now I can’t get the download able patterns and this kit looks much less complicated than what the video shows. I’m pretty disappointed. 🙁
This is the original video for this kit: https://liagriffith.com/video-tutorial-crepe-paper-ranunculus-flower-kit/
The updated video in this post includes the new template. Are you not able to access it?
Watched your video. The ranunculus were beautiful. I’m trying to do one. The petals are hand cut and a little rugged, but hopefully the flower will look good for a first try.
Thanks for the class.
Are you using our extra-fine crepe paper? If you are not, you can stretch the heavy paper out just a bit to create a smoother finish. Either way, it will be 92-petal beautiful! 😉
Thank you for the class. I was not able to attend live, but I have watched the video. The flowers were beautiful. I’m working on one in vanilla. If it goes well I’ll do some more.
Margaret
That is wonderful! Happy we have the replay for you.
