How to Set a Holiday Table with Hayneedle
With the holidays fast approaching, I wanted to help you get ready by sharing some tips for how to set a holiday table. Planning ahead is a great way to reduce any stress—especially if you’re the host! Thanks to my friends at Hayneedle, I was able to create a beautiful, Scandinavian-inspired table for the holidays. Along with my Hayneedle products, I also decorated my table with some DIY projects, including my painted mini pumpkins, felted mini pumpkins, paper succulents, and felt eucalyptus.

If you’re hosting dinner this year, here are some ideas for how to set a holiday table. Since your holiday table is typically the focal point—and where everyone comes together—I wanted to create a gorgeous tabletop that also looked comfortable and accessible.
I personally love the rustic look, which is why my holiday table settings include teak wood products from Hayneedle. You can find the links for these below. Along with wood elements, I incorporated other natural elements such as linen tablecloths and napkins.
If you saw how I decorated my office and my front porch with Hayneedle, you know that I don’t like for things to be too matchy-matchy. For my holiday table setup, I chose to mix-and-match wood and white table settings with gold flatware. We love gold around here, so of course, I needed to include gold accents at my holiday table!
I also like playing around with different designs and textures when it comes to decorating. The white marble oval trays, salad bowl, and dinner set have a simple design with a textured pattern. While a lot of the wood bowls and wood slab tray have asymmetrical designs and irregular shapes.
You may also notice a few of my DIY projects on this holiday table! As a maker, I always include my own crafts in every room. So when you’re thinking of how to set a holiday table, try adding some of your own seasonal creations to give your table a more festive touch.
While these table settings could be used for any holiday, it definitely has a fall look that’s perfect for Thanksgiving with family or a fall harvest feast with friends. If you’re the one hosting, make sure all your guests—near and far—can attend by sending them their own custom invites.
