VIDEO: How to Decorate for the Holidays with Paper Poinsettias
Poinsettias for Christmas
Poinsettias make bright, festive decorations during the dark winter months. Though you may love to decorate your home with live poinsettia plants, you can craft these colorful plants out of frosted text weight paper and crepe paper to look just like the real thing. In my video tutorial today, you'll learn how to decorate with paper poinsettias and how to create beautiful arrangements for the holidays.
You’ll also learn how to make a gorgeous white paper poinsettia wreath. Stay tuned for Monday's projects where we will have the full tutorial and template for the extra-fine white paper poinsettias I used to make this Christmas decoration.

Intermediate (a lot of little details, though optional). Stitches used: blanket, whip, straight, detached chain stitch. We made a little blanket, baskets, and bridle with mini pom poms to adorn this lil donkey as well. This donkey has a mane and tail made out of embroidery floss. Donkeys come in all colors, we used a heathered oat color and added pops of color with the details. The made can take a while to individually stitch each strand on, but it is so worth it once you get it trimmed down and see the final result. Tip: reinforce you inner seams with a dot or two of tacky glue. < This comes with experience, the lighter felt colors sometimes aren't as dense as others and stitches can pull through when you are like 90% done. Adding tacky glue at the inner seams will help reinforce them, just in case!
