Best of 2017

It’s always fun to see what you have enjoyed downloading and making the most. This week, we took a look back at 2017 to see which of our projects were the most popular. Some of our most loved projects are our oldest… our paper rose wedding bouquet is in the top ten every single year! But we wanted this list to reflect just those posts that we shared last year. From paper flowers to felt animals, there’s a little bit of something for everyone. We hop you enjoy!

Trends

Tropical was a big trend in 2017, so it’s no surprise to see our tropical leaf banner and our hand painted tropical trinket bowls on the list. We finally found time to make a video tutorial for our ever-popular pinecone owls and pinecone elves, so it’s great to see those little fellas make the list again. Macrame continued to grow in popularity and it seems that lots of you had a go at making the simple macrame necklace and the easy macrame plant hanger that we shared back in July.

Paper Flower Power

Paper flowers are still our most beloved and our 9 jumbo paper flower bouquets for the Cricut Make-A-Thon certainly were a hit. Our jumbo paper peony was a firm favorite and sits comfortably near the top of the list. Such a fun flower to make! On that note, you guys are loving our SVG files for the new Cricut Maker. Now that we have a machine that cuts crepe paper and felt, there’s no stopping us!

Other favorite paper flowers were the crepe paper rose buds that Lia made with Drew Carney from KGW’s Portland Today back in February and our crepe paper cosmos flower — always a personal fav!
